The offseason for Geno Smith have gone totally wrong. He is going to be unavailable for next six to ten weeks of NFL 2015 due to his broken jaw which he got after getting punched in the locker room by his team mate IK Enemkpali. All these were announced by the coach Todd Bowles on Wednesday. After the brawl IK Enemkpali was released by the Jets quickly. The fighting was over money dispute between the two of them according to a team source. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that the jaw of Smith was broken in two different places a and he is conformed to go under surgery.

Coach Bowl described the incident. He said the altercation took place in the dressing room and there   was no connection of it with football. According to his language,

"It had nothing to do with football. It  was something very childish. He got cold-cocked, sucker-punched, whatever you want to call it. You   can't tolerate that. When you have a team and a bunch of side issues you can't tolerate that."

They story  was like this that Enemkpali arranged a plane ticket for Geno which cost him $600 but Geno did not show up as he told he could not show up due to his brother’s accident. Geno was supposed to repay that at the camp. The altercation took place when talk was going over that money in the locker room and Smith put hand on the face of IK Enemkpali.

After being sacked of IK Enemkpali said he was real sorry for his conduct and he apologies to everyone including his coach, teammates, Jets organization and fans for that. He added he is in deep regret for his actions and he never intended to harm anyone. Fitzpatrick is going to replace for him in the team. But for Smith it will be a great loss not to play from the start of NFL 2015. Moreover he has to recover properly from an injury which is unprecedented in the history of NFL.
