Alabama Quarterback Jake Coker on Sideline Due To Foot Injury

Jake Coker, the quarterback of Alabama is going to miss "several days" prior to NCAA 2015 as he is suffering from a minor foot injury. The news was revealed by Nick Saban, their coach on last Monday through a statement. This has made a twist in the quarterback battle of Alabama. There is still no   number one and both freshman Blake Barnett and senior Jake Coker are trying for it.

In the statement Saban said,

“Jake Coker has a minor foot injury that we think will keep him out of  practice for several days and our physicians anticipate full recovery."

This will create a chance for Blake  Barnett to make more impression in practice and he might be able to create some gap with his competitor. But so far none of them have made an impression do far as they are still catching up in the practice till now. On last Saturday frustration was shown by Saban with the low performance of the quarterbacks during a scrimmage. He said that either one of them have to make it happen as he can’t do it on the field. He also said,

"As bad as I'd like to make it happen, I can't make it happen... If it doesn't get  decided, like it didn't when AJ (McCarron) and Phillip Sims were here, they both played a quarter, a quarter, a quarter, a quarter in the first game, and that's how we figured it out before we start College Football 2015.''

Personally Saban would really love that either one of his quarterbacks to emerge as the number one   choice before they take on Wisconsin in week 1 of NCAA 2015. Because rotating quarterbacks for each quarter should not bring out the required result. This makes the injury very unfortunate for Coker. As he is going to miss the practice for a extend period he will fall behind in the race and Saban has to carry on with the other available quarterback as his number one choice for the season.
