Buccaneers Center Compares Winston To Aaron Rodgers

Buccaneers lineman Evan Smith has been practicing with Jameis Winston for only three months and apparently that has been long enough to convince Evans that Winston is going to be an amazing   quarterback. If you are asking yourself how good Winston is, then you will be amazed to find who Smith is comparing him to. The center back, lineman stated that Winston reminds him of the young Aaron Rodgers. Evans told yahoo sports that he had only been around two quarterbacks before, stating that he played alongside one of them, and Winston reminded him of the young version of Aaron Rodgers. He continued to say that he is aware of what people might say, but Winston is yet to take a snap in the league.

Why Compare The Two Players

The Buccaneer’s center back started his playing career in 2009, in green bay and that happened to be Rodgers second season at the club as a starter. Smith said

“when I first got to green bay, you could see  the talent there; you could see Aaron was starting to take off as a superstar.”
Smith continued to say

“you can tell Jameis has that potential.”

Smith admitted that Winston has been outstanding among his teammates in every single way a rookie quarterback can appeal to his teammates. Smith told reporters that everyone can see what Winston has been doing with the brains. Smith further said” you can clearly see the talent. That is one thing that will get off the film at you. There is no doubt he had a baseball background, and he has mastered how to throw it. This anticipation on his thro is what wows you. At times we watch the film and say,

“wow that  was a really good throw.”

Smith also said that the buccaneers will enjoy it, if Winston’s first year as a Rookie goes anything like Aaron Rodger first year as a fresher. While the Parkers finished 6-10, Aaron Rodgers showed his potential as a franchise quarterback with 28 touchdowns, and throwing 4,038, both numbers ranked 4th in the NFL 2015 that year.
