Argonauts Assembled In Fourth Quarter to Beat Roughriders by a Close Margin |
On Saturday night Saskatchewan Roughriders were beaten by the Toronto Argonauts as in the fourth quarter Trevor Harris threw touchdown passes to his teammates Diontae Spencer & Vidal Hazelton. The game was won by 30 to 26 and the Argonauts were able to score on the consecutive possessions in order clutch the victory in CFL 2015.
At the start of the final frame a horse-caller tackle was called on Saskatchewan give chance to Toronto and they were able to move to scoring territory. Then 27-yard pass from Harris reached Hazleton and he was able to touch down it which tied the score 23-23. It was his third touchdown in CFL 2015. Then Toronto was able to keep two passing plays for the next possession which was enough for the Argos to get to the end zone. And then from Tori Harris, Gurley caught a 52-yard pass and he gave the Toronto a seven point lead in the mid-way of the fourth. The score was 30-23. But the lead was cut short by three points. Paul McCallum scored a 27-yard field goal when he was only 3 minutes into the game. The six plays prior to this were highlighted by Steven Miller who made a 28-yard gain. He was in the team to replace Anthony Allen.
Miller made a 40-yard punt return which gave the Riders a great field position. But then it was soon erased through a series of few penalties. Jerome Messam was helping to move the chain but the 55-yard touchdown catch with Chris Getzlaf made was brought back due to an official call. Korey Williams gave the Riders a great start when a pass for 62-yard gain was hauled by him as the time of the first quarter expiring. It has been the longest passing play for Saskatchewan in this CFL 2015. Getzlaf was able to catch another pass for touchdown too. But it called back due to a penalty. Then the possession was changed as McCallum failed in attempt to get a 42-yard field goal.
