Dockers Come A Step Closer To The Top Spot

Jonathan Griffin and Aaron Sandilands made their mark in the Fremantle’s clinical after commanding a 37 point victory over Kilda. The two combined for 4 goals in the 15.6 (96) to 8.11 (59) victory that keeps the Dockers on the right path towards lifting the trophy. This may   have come at a price with the substitution of Luke Mcpharlin, a defender with a calf problem.

In the first half, the match was one way traffic with Ross Lyons team showing the others why they are 10 points clear at the top of the table. The Dockers dealt the killer blows slowly but swiftly. Fremantle kicked 7 goals from 7 different players. By half time, the game was over with Hayden crozier and Matthew Pavlich joins the rucks with only two goals as the Dockers surged to twelve goals to two lead.

Stephen Hill, David Mundy and Lachie Neale gave the Dockers a run for their win, while Mathew continued his outstanding form in attack. The Dockers duo of griffin and Sandilands stated the Fremantle’s supremacy by finding a couple of goals and winning the hit-outs when the match was in the balance.

The saints enjoyed a short spell of dominance after the first quarter, but could not overpower the   Dockers in the scoreboard. Sean Dempster, who was playing his 200th game managed 20 touches;   Leigh Montagna showed his prowess from the saint’s midfield.

St. Kilda’s talls paddy Macatin, josh Bruce and Nick Riewoldt did not manage to kick any goals   until the last quarter hen each one of them kicked a major, but the game was already lost.

The worst effort in front of the Saints goal was the close range goal from Jack Stevens in the fourth term, the kick struck Chelsea Roffey who is a goal umpire.

The worst thing for Coach Alan Richardson this season is the number of players who are out   with injuries. Daniel McKenzie had to be substituted after David Mundy’s tackle within the goal square. Other players like Shane Savage and Jack Lonnie played through although they were showing discomfort.
